Summary
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the agency’s full revenue cycle, including billing, collections, reconciliation, and reporting. This role ensures revenue operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant with regulatory and financial standards. The Director supervises the Revenue Manager and works closely with finance and program teams to align billing practices with service delivery and funding requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end revenue cycle operations including claims processing, payment posting, collections, denials management, and rebilling.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, Medicaid, DMH, DHSS, IRS, and other relevant standards and regulations.
- Supervise the Revenue Manager and support staff, ensuring high performance, accountability, and employee development.
- Oversee revenue reconciliation and investigate variances between billing and payments to ensure timely resolution.
- Analyze and report on revenue trends, collections performance, and cash flow.
- Develop forecasts to support budgeting and strategic planning.
- Act as subject matter expert on billing regulations and lead change management efforts to operationalize billing process changes as required across the organization.
- Communicate billing timelines to program staff and review electronic billing data for accuracy prior to submission.
- Ensure consistency between internal and external service authorizations (e.g., Therap, Ascend, and CIMOR).
- Maintain financial documentation required for audits, grant compliance, census filings, and other required reporting/filing.
- Manage the accurate receipt, allocation, and reporting of donations and grant funds in accordance with requirements, in collaboration with Grant Writers and External Relations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in revenue cycle management with 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of revenue cycle processes, healthcare or human services billing, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in relevant billing systems (e.g., CIMOR, MOHealthNet) and strong analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must receive seasonal flu vaccination.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience with HCBS/Medicaid billing.
- Medical Coding experience.
- Experience using Sage Intacct, Therap, and/or Ascend software.
Salary : $80,000 - $105,000
