Sales Development Representative
Location: Greater Hartford, CT
Schedule: In office Monday; travel throughout the territory Tuesday–Friday

Compensation: $65,000 base quarterly commission (OTE ~$80,000)
Position Overview
The company is seeking a Sales Representative to manage and grow an established customer base while developing new business throughout an assigned territory. This is a highly field-based position for someone with at least one year of sales experience who is comfortable building customer relationships, prospecting for new opportunities, and managing a sales territory independently.
The Sales Representative will inherit an existing book of business and will be responsible for maintaining those relationships, identifying opportunities for additional business, and developing new accounts. The company provides leads through its website, trade shows, and other marketing efforts, while also expecting the representative to independently prospect and generate new opportunities.
The position requires approximately 80% travel throughout Northern Connecticut, Northern Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine. The representative will typically work from the office early Monday before spending the remainder of the week in the field. Mileage reimbursement is provided for business travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established book of business
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
- Identify opportunities to expand business within existing accounts
- Prospect for and develop new customer relationships
- Follow up on leads generated through the company's website, trade shows, and other marketing channels
- Independently identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Conduct in-person customer meetings and sales visits throughout the territory
- Understand customer needs and present appropriate solutions
- Manage opportunities through the sales process from initial contact through close
- Maintain accurate customer and sales activity information
- Communicate regularly with internal teams regarding customer needs and opportunities
- Travel approximately 80% throughout the assigned territory
Qualifications
- 1 years of sales, business development, or related customer-facing experience
- Sales internship experience may be considered for the right candidate
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable prospecting and initiating conversations with prospective customers
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Comfortable with approximately 80% regional travel
- Must be based in Connecticut
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Manufacturing or B2B sales experience is a plus, but not required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
