Corporate Accounting Manager Summary
The Accounting Manager assists and oversees the entire accounting and month-end close process with a focus on reporting compliance, accuracy of month-end financials, and maintaining effective communication with both internal and external clients. The Accounting Manager should be able to proactively identify issues and seek solutions that deliver long-term benefits.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages accurate and timely month-end closing processes including variance explanations on the balance sheet & income statement.
- Prepares, publishes, and communicates timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
- Leads the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Researches technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Generates and/or reviews monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
- Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manages and complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Maintains responsibility for team management and development including training, coaching, and providing feedback on performance.
- Supports other members of the Accounting team as needed and could assume more responsibilities as the company grows.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- CPA designation or CPA eligible preferred.
- Greater than five years of overall combined accounting and finance experience including management of employees.
- Core knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and adherence to those.
- Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
- High level of accountability for accounting and financial areas.
- Microsoft Suite experience with an emphasis on intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Excellent client service skills with the ability to work cross-functionally, making the tough decisions but with a spirit of cooperation.
- Forward-thinker who is open to new ideas and a desire to try new techniques.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective problem solver with the ability to manage projects.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
