What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Attorney position at Beacon Hill?
Beacon Hill is hiring a Remote Contract Litigation Attorney for a six-month temporary assignment supporting a busy litigation practice. This role is fully remote and is ideal for an experienced attorney who can immediately contribute to complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.
This position is focused primarily on litigation support and case management rather than drafting pleadings or arguing motions. The selected attorney will play a key role in managing discovery, preparing case materials, and providing strategic litigation support across a high-volume caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft discovery requests and responses
- Analyze case files and conduct legal research
- Assess and coordinate subpoena needs
- Prepare deposition outlines and witness preparation materials
- Assist with witness preparation and case strategy
- Track billable and non-billable time accurately
- Provide comprehensive litigation support throughout the lifecycle of cases
- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure deadlines and case objectives are met
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership in good standing
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience
- Strong experience drafting and responding to discovery
- Thorough understanding of litigation procedures and processes
- Ability to work independently and quickly integrate into active matters
- Experience tracking billable and non-billable time
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Comfortable handling matters involving allegations of childhood sexual abuse
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mass tort litigation experience
- Pennsylvania court experience
- Candidates located in the Pittsburgh area are preferred but not required
