What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grant Accountant position at Beacon Hill?
Beacon Hill is partnering with a non-profit in Brooklyn to bring a Grant Accountant to their growing team. The Grant Accountant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of grant-funded programs, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance with donor, federal, state, and organizational requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial lifecycle of assigned grants, including setup, monitoring, reporting, and closeout
- Track grant expenditures and ensure costs align with approved budgets and funding guidelines
- Prepare and post journal entries related to grant activity, including revenue recognition and reclasses
- Reconcile grant-related accounts, including general ledger and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders and external funders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain detailed grant records, schedules, and supporting documentation for compliance and audit purposes
- Monitor grant budgets and collaborate with program staff to address variances and spending concerns
- Prepare invoices, funding requests, and grant drawdowns as required
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and private grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance where applicable
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation
