Cost Analyst
Calling all Cost Analysts!! Our client, located in the Raleigh area, is searching for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to join their growing team on a direct-hire basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with both accounting and operations leadership in a highly visible role supporting financial performance and operational decision-making.
While working as the Cost Analyst, you will partner with accounting, operations, and leadership teams while overseeing responsibilities including:
Maintaining and analyzing the cost accounting system including inventory valuation, cost drivers, and standard vs. actual cost reporting
Reviewing daily production, inventory, and operational reporting to validate financial activity
Managing WIP analysis and revenue recognition processes
Preparing budgets, forecasts, month-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Performing detailed cost analysis related to labor, raw materials, maintenance, utilities, depreciation, and other operational drivers
Conducting profitability analysis, pricing analysis, and financial modeling to support operational and leadership decisions
Supporting capital project analysis including ROI calculations, payback analysis, and capital expenditure planning
Planning and reconciling physical inventory counts while ensuring accuracy and integrity of inventory costing
Partnering with operations and contracting teams to evaluate bid performance and operational profitability
Identifying process improvement opportunities through plant/site visits, operational audits, and cross-functional collaboration
Various related duties and projects as needed

To be considered for this specific position you would need to have:
3 years of experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, or operational finance
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience with inventory accounting, WIP analysis, and revenue recognition
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational and financial data
ERP system experience and intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
Experience within manufacturing, construction materials, heavy industry, or similar operational environments is preferred
