What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Beacon Hill?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting records. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. This is a contract position and will be on site.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice entry, payment processing, and collections follow-up
Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other financial accounts on a regular basis
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and support month-end and year-end close
Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow summaries
Organize and maintain digital and physical financial files
Collaborate with accountants, auditors, and internal teams as needed
Support budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; bachelor's degree preferred
2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite
Strong understanding of GAAP principles
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
