JOB SUMMARY:
The Campus Safety Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Campus Safety Department. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Campus Safety Operations Manager oversees campus security operations, supervises personnel, ensures compliance with federal and state safety regulations, and cultivates a proactive safety culture across the institution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Emergency Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2 years of related experience, including supervisory or leadership experience.

The Campus Safety Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Campus Safety Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Oversee daily operations of the Campus Safety team, including patrol functions, incident response, notifications, and documentation.
- Review, approve, and classify incident reports.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate campus safety officers and staff.
- Develop and implement safety policies, protocols, and incident response procedures.
- Ensure institutional compliance with federal and state reporting requirements and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate campus emergency preparedness, including drills, training sessions, and communication systems.
- Conduct investigations into campus incidents, accidents, and policy violations.
- Collaborate with student affairs, facilities, residence life, and local law enforcement agencies to support a safe campus climate.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation for campus safety operations.
- Monitor and analyze reports to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Serve as part of the institution’s emergency management team.
- Conduct investigations as needed, including access control records and camera footage.
- Participate in all professional development activities and other meetings as assigned
- Serving on College committees as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Emergency Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2 years of related experience, including supervisory or leadership experience.
Licensing:
- Maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR) are required to drive Beacon College vehicles.
- Maintain a Florida Class D security license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Prior experience in campus safety, law enforcement, security management, or related discipline
- Proven skill in working with technology-based security systems.
- Familiarity with Clery Act, V.A.W.A., and F.E.R.P.A compliance and Title IX considerations.
- Strong understanding of emergency response, crisis management, and safety best practices.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft-based applications.
- Strong service orientation with a demonstrated ability to effectively meet the needs of and work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, and public.
- Ability to work in demanding and stressful situations while practicing good judgment.
- Communicate in real-time during fluid, high-stress, and rapidly evolving situations.
