JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Director of Virtual College Readiness Programs provides leadership, management, and strategic oversight for Beacon College’s virtual college readiness initiatives, including Navigator PREP, College Coaching, Introduction to College Academics, Foundations, and future virtual college readiness initiatives. This on-campus role is responsible for program operations, student outcomes, and enrollment growth, including direct oversight of transition counseling staff, recruitment and application processes, and a caseload of college readiness program students.
The Associate Director serves as a key leader in advancing Beacon’s transition-to-college model and nationwide college readiness programs, supporting prospective students and families, and ensuring alignment between college readiness programming and undergraduate enrollment goals.
DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Oversee the operations, delivery, and continuous improvement of all virtual college readiness programs, including Navigator PREP, College Coaching, Introduction to College Academics, Foundations, and future virtual initiatives.
- Direct and manage recruitment, admissions, and enrollment processes for all virtual college readiness programs, including application review, decision-making, and oversight of CRM pipelines and conversion metrics.
- Collaborate with Admissions and College Readiness leaders on program performance, enhancement, new program development, and other strategic initiatives of the Center for College Readiness.
- Supervise Transition Counselors, including hiring, training, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Admissions, Marketing, Student Success, and College Readiness leadership to support recruitment strategies, evaluate student applications, enhance programming, and align enrollment and student success initiatives.
- Manage and maintain a college readiness program caseload of up to 15 students, providing individualized transition planning, coaching, and family communication.
- Lead onboarding processes for students entering virtual college readiness programs, including coordination with academic and admissions teams.
- Develop and oversee program schedules, including webinars, workshops, student sessions, and parent engagement opportunities.
- Collect, analyze, and report on program data, including enrollment trends, student outcomes, and program effectiveness.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on transition-to-college for students with learning differences, providing consultations to families and professionals.
- Coordinate the participation of the Center for College Readiness and Transition Counselors in the triadic model for incoming undergraduate students, including webinars, student engagement, and transition support activities.
- Coordinate the participation of the Transition Counselors in supporting the summer programs, in collaboration with program leadership.
- Represent Beacon College through presentations, workshops, and outreach to schools, professionals, and families.
- Ensure consistent communication with students and families, including newsletters, program updates, and progress reporting.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
- Master’s degree required in Counseling, Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in transition programming, student development, or working with students with learning differences or ADHD (required).
- Supervisory or program management experience (preferred).
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to families and professionals.
- Experience with data analysis and program evaluation.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and student information systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously.
Abilities:
- Ability to lead and scale programs while maintaining a high level of student-centered support.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain a professional and patient approach when working with students, parents, and other Beacon College community members.
- Strong ability to remain composed and maintain a clear focus during high-stress situations.
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programming and recruitment activities.
