A highly regarded matrimonial and family law practice is seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to support its expanding domestic relations litigation team. The Family Law Associate Attorney will represent clients in divorce proceedings, custody disputes, support matters, family offense proceedings, and related litigation while contributing to case strategy and courtroom advocacy efforts. Key Responsibilities

• Manage matrimonial and family law matters from inception through final resolution

• Draft pleadings, petitions, motions, stipulations, settlement agreements, and related legal documents

• Appear before courts for hearings, conferences, motion practice, and related proceedings

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda of law supporting litigation strategy

• Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular case status updates

• Communicate with courts, court personnel, opposing counsel, and firm staff regarding assigned matters

• Represent clients in matters involving divorce, custody and visitation, child support, family offense proceedings, and orders of protection

• Develop litigation and negotiation strategies tailored to client objectives

• Maintain complete, organized, and accurate case files and litigation records

• Manage multiple legal matters efficiently while ensuring compliance with litigation deadlines

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

• Admission to practice law in the State of New York required

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in matrimonial and family law

• Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills

• Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters efficiently

• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated professionalism and discretion in emotionally sensitive matters

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software

• Strong courtroom advocacy and negotiation capabilities preferred
