General Laborer/ Hand Tools

BBSI is seeking dependable and safety-focused Construction Demolition Laborers,company will train demolition of a retail store project. This role involves removing existing flooring, drywall, fixtures, and store materials while maintaining a clean and safe job site. Candidates must be comfortable performing physically demanding work and following strict safety procedures to avoid damage to active electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior demolition work in a retail construction environment
• Remove flooring materials, fixtures, shelving, drywall, and other store components
• Pull up existing floors using hand and power tools
• Assist with debris removal and site cleanup throughout the project
• Safely handle and dispose of demolition materials
• Identify and avoid cutting or damaging electrical wiring, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and other active utilities
• Use proper demolition methods to protect surrounding structures and finishes
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
• Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures at all times
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to complete project deadlines efficiently

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pulling, pushing, and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and physically demanding environments
• Comfortable using demolition tools and equipment safely

Qualifications

• Previous construction, demolition, remodeling, or general labor experience preferred
• Experience with drywall removal, flooring demolition, or retail remodels is a plus
• Basic knowledge of construction safety practices
• Ability to recognize potential electrical hazards and avoid damaging live systems
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Skills

• Experience using hand tools, pry bars, shovels, jackhammers, and other demolition equipment
• Understanding of basic electrical and structural awareness
• Work Environment
• Active construction and retail renovation site
• Fast-paced team environment with strict safety expectations
• PPE required at all times, company will provide hard hat, safety vest, gloves, eye protection, eye protection
• Spanish speakers ok

Schedule

• Flexible either 5am-1:30pm or 6am-2:30pm
