BBSI is seeking an experienced Construction Foreman / Carpenter to oversee crews, support project execution, and maintain safe and productive job sites. This role is ideal for a skilled construction professional with leadership experience, strong knowledge of field operations, and the ability to manage daily job-site activities while supporting project timelines and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct construction crews on active job sites between the bay area to Sacramento
- Train, mentor, and direct the work of team members under foreman supervision
- Cover during vacations, leave, or absences
- Assist with project management and daily field coordination
- Enforce job-site safety standards, company rules, and safe work practices
- Set up and maintain safe job sites including temporary railings, barricades, fall protection, and public safety measures
- Schedule inspections and coordinate with inspectors as needed
- Communicate with Project Managers regarding material orders, deliveries, and project updates
- Read and interpret blueprints, scopes of work, and field conditions for proper execution of projects
- Assess crew skill levels and assign tasks appropriately
- Monitor workmanship and ensure quality control throughout all phases of construction
- Support understanding and tracking of project budgets and job costs
- Complete and understand company paperwork, systems, and protocols
- Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction leadership, foreman, or lead carpenter roles
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Ability to read blueprints and scopes of work
- Experience supervising crews and coordinating field operations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Understanding of project scheduling, materials coordination, and job-site logistics
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to qualify under company insurance requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and lead by example
