What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Pharmacist position at Barrington James?
I am representing a rapidly growing compounding pharmacy organization that is expanding its pharmacy operations and looking to hire multiple Staff Pharmacists.
This is an opportunity to join a high-growth pharmacy environment where pharmacists are directly involved in supporting prescription volume, operational scale, and patient care. The business is continuing to expand and is looking for pharmacists who want to be part of a team that is building something long term.
This role is focused on prescription verification, pharmacist oversight, dispensing accuracy, and supporting day-to-day pharmacy workflow in a fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy setting.
This is not a traditional retail-only opportunity. We are looking for pharmacists with experience in a compounding pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, central fill pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, or other high-volume dispensing environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, clinical appropriateness, and compliance.
- Support high-volume prescription fulfillment while maintaining patient safety and quality standards.
- Provide pharmacist oversight across dispensing workflows, prescription processing, and pharmacy support staff.
- Ensure prescriptions are processed in accordance with applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Identify and resolve prescription, documentation, dosing, fulfillment, or workflow issues in a timely manner.
- Partner with pharmacy leadership, technicians, and operations staff to support efficient daily pharmacy operations.
- Maintain accurate records and support proper documentation practices.
- Help improve workflow, throughput, and operational efficiency as the pharmacy continues to grow.
- Support a compliant, professional, and team-oriented pharmacy environment.
- Assist with shift coverage needs, including potential evening or night shift coverage.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license required.
- PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree required.
- Comfortable working fully on-site in a fast-paced pharmacy operation.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail and patient safety.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with technicians, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership.
This is a strong opportunity for a pharmacist who wants to step into a growing compounding pharmacy operation, support meaningful prescription volume, and be part of a team with significant long-term expansion plans.
