Brewer’s Assistant / Cellar Person
Position Summary
The Brewer’s Assistant / Cellar Person supports the brewing team in the production, packaging, handling, and quality care of beer and related products. This role is responsible for assisting with daily cellar operations, cleaning and sanitation, beer transfers, packaging support, inventory organization, and general brewery upkeep. This position requires attention to detail, consistency, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the brewer with all aspects of daily brewery and cellar operations
- Clean and sanitize tanks, kegs, hoses, fittings, tools, and production areas
- Support beer transfers, yeast handling, dry hopping, filtration, carbonation, and related cellar tasks
- Assist with packaging operations including kegging, canning, bottling, labeling, and case packing
- Monitor product quality and report any inconsistencies or concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate production, cleaning, packaging, and inventory records
- Receive, organize, and properly store raw materials and brewery supplies
- Assist with keg washing, filling, and inventory rotation
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe brewery environment at all times
- Follow all company, safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures
- Support preventive maintenance and report equipment issues as needed
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials and finished product
- Provide support for brewery events, special releases, or production needs as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior brewery, cellar, production, warehouse, or food and beverage manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures consistently
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
- Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb stairs, and work on feet for extended periods
- Ability to work in wet, cold, hot, and fast-paced production environments
- Ability to safely handle chemicals and follow PPE requirements
Schedule and Availability
This position requires a flexible schedule based on production and business needs. Candidates must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Reports To

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
