Let us help you achieve your career dreamsLocation: Sonoma, CASchedule: Monday – Friday | In-OfficeStart Time: 8:30 AM (30-minute lunch)Employment Type: Full-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt)Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (DOE)Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Associate to support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, and General Accounting functions. This role works closely with internal departments, customers, vendors, financial institutions, and external partners to ensure accurate financial processing, reconciliation, and reporting.This is a full-time Accounts Receivable-focused position with the intent for long-term placement and growth within the organization.Key Responsibilities Accounts ReceivableManage all A/R functions, ensuring accurate reconciliation and timely collectionsApply cash receipts and process inter-company billingsCoordinate internal and external billing processesProcess customer credit memosCollaborate with Sales and Customer Service to recommend credit limitsMaintain and update customer master filesCalculate reserves for customer complaints and bad debt in compliance with GAAPTrack and report Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)Recommend account holds when necessaryMaintain sales tax documentation and exemption certificatesPrepare month-end journal entries related to A/R and salesAccounts PayableProcess A/P transactions and maintain vendor documentationVoucher invoices, code and process expense reports, and issue paymentsTrack and report Days Payable Outstanding (DPO)Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesPrepare 1099 tax documentsAssist with tax, internal, and external auditsGeneral Office & Accounting SupportReconcile General Ledger accounts to related sub-ledgersHandle petty cash and perform reconciliationsPost and manage incoming mailSupport office systems including phones, voicemail, and badge accessQualificationsAssociate’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred (degree not required)Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience (manufacturing environment preferred)Experience with automated A/P and A/R systemsStrong General Ledger reconciliation skillsKnowledge of credit and collection practicesUnderstanding of sales and use tax regulationsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Experience with JD Edwards and AS400 is a plusStrong analytical, math, and decision-making skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-drivenSelf-starter with a strong sense of integrity and accountabilityWillingness to work overtime as neededWork Environment & Physical RequirementsPrimarily seated office positionOccasional walking and standingAbility to lift up to 15 lbsFrequent fine motor skills and data entryNormal hearing and vision requiredOccasional exposure to operational areasSafety-conscious mindset requiredEqual Opportunity EmployerBalance Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
