Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Technician to support operations within a manufacturing/refinery environment in Stockton, CA. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and experience working in industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, boilers, and valves.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs to restore operations.
- Conduct scheduled inspections to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
- Diagnose mechanical issues and identify root causes using tools and technical knowledge.
- Develop and execute repair plans to minimize recurring issues.
- Perform condition monitoring and recommend maintenance actions.
Parts Replacement & Installation
- Replace or repair components such as bearings, belts, seals, shafts, gears, and valves.
- Install and align mechanical parts to ensure proper function and performance.
- Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Utilize proper PPE and adhere to confined space and hazardous energy protocols.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training sessions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately record maintenance activities, labor hours, and parts used in CMMS systems (Fiix, SAP, etc.).
- Maintain detailed logs for preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Support training of junior technicians and share technical knowledge.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing or refinery preferred)
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
Preferred:
- Trade school certification in industrial maintenance or related field
- Experience with CMMS systems (Fiix, SAP, etc.)
- Welding or fabrication experience
