Job Overview
We are seeking one employee to join our dynamic team for weekends at Bagel-ish, a bagel shop/cafe in Beacon NY which specializes in delicious all-natural bagels and sandwiches.
This is a great job for active retirees, and college grads, who are seeking a dynamic environment, but limited hours; it requires much interaction with public, making sandwiches in the front, and participating with the baking staff in the back. Food service experience preferred.
Candidate should be willing and eager to take direction from the owner and FOH manager, work as a team member with other employees, and engage with the public.
Residing in or close to Beacon is a plus.
Front of the House Position: Saturday 7-5, Sunday 7-4
PAY RANGE depending upon experience $18-$21 per hour.
The team members should:
- enjoy interacting with the public, taking orders, sampling specialty bagel and food products that are sold at the premises.
- be able to work in a fast-paced environment andfocus on accuracy in taking and making orders.
- be able to explain the uniqueness and benefits of the products to the customers
- have experience working on a POS system (preferably Square)(Though we can teach this)
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to recipe cards and customer specifications
- Observe and assess tasks to be done. Communicate with owner and staff on needs (for example when certain ingredients are running low)
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitize work areas, and help clean up at the end of the workday.
- Work cooperatively with the team.
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure quality control
- Able to stand for long periods of time.

Expected hours: 16.0 – 18.0 per week
