DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the purchasing of raw material, hardware, equipment, production supplies and services necessary for the efficient operation of a full-service aircraft parts manufacturer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
- Developing profitable purchasing strategies.
- Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.
- Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop setting
- MS Office
- Time Management
- Organization Skills
- Problem Solving Skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
- Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
