Purchasing Analyst
Salina, KS
Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Purchasing Analyst to join our growing team.
This is an on-site position based from our Corporate Office in Salina, KS. This role typically works Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data to support decision making
- Implement new data analysis methodologies
- Develop and maintain professional knowledge regarding market drivers, market trends, and economic forecasts
- Provide insightful, timely and accurate procurement category analysis
- Work directly with management on system and process improvements
- Develop and maintain supplier KPIs
- Create content such as presentation slides, reports and process documentation
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance or business administration
- Analytical mind and a keen business sense
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Procurement experience preferred
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight
- Detail-oriented and critical thinker
