Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

Role: Clinical Nurse Educator responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, effective clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments, considering psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications accurately, following safety protocols and age-specific guidelines.
• Ensure patient safety through proper documentation, aseptic techniques, and communication.
• Function flexibly under stress, utilizing critical thinking, sound judgment, and delegation skills.
• Provide age-appropriate care, interpret patient data, and deliver accurate patient reports.
• Prepare surgical environments, maintain aseptic techniques, and communicate effectively with surgical teams, including managing specimen handling and instrument counts.
  
  

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in Connecticut.
• Certification in CPR required.
• Previous experience in surgical or labor and delivery settings, especially assisting with C-sections.
