About the Role
As a Precision Ag Technician / Nutrient Management Specialist, you’ll play a key role in helping growers maximize productivity through data-driven decision-making, sustainable practices, and cutting-edge agronomic technology. Working under the Location Manager with support from the Precision Manager, you’ll collaborate with agronomists and producers to implement precision ag strategies, manage nutrient plans, and deliver hands-on field insights that drive success.
What You’ll Do

Conduct soil, tissue, and nematode testing using FieldAlytics and NutriSolutions software.

Utilize multiple precision platforms (John Deere, Raven, SMS, Climate, R7, etc.) to analyze data and generate VRT (variable-rate technology) fertilizer and seeding recommendations.

Scout customer fields, accurately record findings, and communicate results to the agronomy team.

Support agronomists in integrating precision technology tools and techniques into customer operations.

Write, update, and maintain Nutrient Management Plans (NMPs) and Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMPs) for CAFO clients.

Manage relationships with County LCD, State DNR, and Federal NRCS staff to ensure compliance and effective program delivery.

Administer Carbon Sequestration programs for cooperative staff and customers.

Maintain and support customers enrolled in the cooperative’s SMART program.

Participate in agronomy operations as needed during the growing season.

Assist with special projects for the agronomy and sales teams.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field.

Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and precision ag software including SNAP Plus, SMS, FieldAlytics, Climate, and R7.

Strong data management and GIS analysis skills.

Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and Commercial Applicator License required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

NRCS TSP Certification (Technical Service Provider) preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new technology.

Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
