Job Title: Custom Applicator
Reports To: Agronomy Manager / Location Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Custom Applicator to join our agronomy retail facility. The Custom Applicator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient application of crop protection products, fertilizers, and other inputs to customer fields. This role also assists with equipment maintenance, facility operations, and providing excellent customer service to support the overall success of our agronomy business.
Key Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate application equipment (self-propelled sprayers, spreaders, tender trucks, etc.) to apply fertilizers and crop protection products to fields.

Blend and load crop protection products and fertilizers according to label requirements and customer work orders.

Conduct pre- and post-application equipment checks to ensure safety, accuracy, and proper calibration.

Maintain accurate records of applications and comply with all regulatory guidelines.

Assist in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of application equipment and other machinery.

Support warehouse and facility operations, including inventory management, chemical handling, and shop upkeep.

Load/unload product deliveries and maintain safe storage practices.

Provide outstanding customer service while on farms and represent the company professionally.

Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and state/federal compliance requirements.

Assist with additional agronomy services such as soil sampling, scouting, and seasonal operations as needed.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or technical schooling in agronomy or agriculture is a plus.

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; CDL with endorsements preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License (or ability to obtain).

Prior experience operating agricultural equipment or heavy machinery preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment maintenance.

Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons (spring and fall).

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions

Seasonal and weather-dependent schedule; extended hours required during planting and harvest seasons.

Work performed in both indoor (facility/shop) and outdoor (field) environments.
