Duties
- Manage warehouse distribution activities, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms like SAP or AS400 to track stock levels, process transactions, and generate reports.
- Coordinate transportation planning and logistics using transportation management systems (TMS) and collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) for freight and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) arrangements.
- Oversee materials handling processes, including forklift operation (certification preferred), ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods within the warehouse.
- Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions or inventory discrepancies to implement process improvements.
- Engage in procurement activities such as sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to optimize costs and service levels.
- Analyze supply chain data using tools like Tableau and SQL for demand planning, category management, and supply chain analytics to inform strategic decisions.
- Support inventory management through regular stock audits, inventory control procedures, and demand forecasting aligned with production planning needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on category management, pricing strategies, and procurement initiatives to maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and warehouse protocols while fostering a culture of continuous process improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or distribution centers with a strong understanding of supply chain operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as SAP or AS400, and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment like forklifts; certification is highly desirable.
- Strong data analysis skills utilizing SQL, Tableau or similar tools for reporting and decision-making purposes.
- Experience in procurement, vendor management, contract negotiation, and sourcing strategies within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify issues in logistics or inventory processes and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
