Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing patients’ digital health records to ensure that they are complete and accurate
- Inputting or verifying classification codes for patients’ diagnoses, testing procedures, and/or treatment
- Daily coding for medical diagnosis
- Therapy codes added to PCC weekly provided by Therapy log
- Create Diagnosis log that transfers into the UB04
- Participate in monthly Triple Check
- Updating or organizing healthcare data within clinical databases
- Compiling reports as requested
- Assisting with the safe and secure storage of private patient data
- Compiling, organizing, maintaining, and protecting confidential medical records
- Designing health information systems to comply with medical, legal, and ethical standards
- Enters and maintains information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Monitors information in the EMR for accuracy
- Observes trends in audits and denials from payers
- Analyzes clinical data for research, process improvement, reporting, and more
- Collect and log vaccine information upon residents’ admission into facility
- Keep a log of employees and resident’s vaccination status
- Report employee/resident’s vaccination status on the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Which is a secured, system that integrates patient and healthcare personnel safety surveillance systems managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (CDC, DHQP). NHSN is being utilized by nursing homes to track and report COVID status in their facilities. NHSN fulfills the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and state requirements for HAI-AR reporting, and CMS nursing home COVID-19 reporting requirements
- Manage Medical Records duties
- Manage Iron Mountain dates, storage and shipments
- Manage Florida Shots, to verify Staff, Residents, Agency, Contracts (MDs APRN, Hospice, etc.) required immunizations/COVID status
- Credentialing and recredentialing of new practitioner within the facility
