Litigation Legal Assistant | Up to $75,000
Mid size law firm is seeking a proactive, highly organized Litigation Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, specifically with electronic filing, and a comprehensive understanding of state and federal court rules in North Carolina. You will work closely with attorneys and paralegals to handle case management from inception through resolution.
Core Responsibilities
- Court E-Filing: Prepare, format, and electronically file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents using the North Carolina Judicial Branch eCourts portal and federal CM/ECF systems.
- Scheduling & Calendaring: Maintain complex attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings. Coordinate with court reporters, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.
- Document Management: Draft, proofread, and edit legal correspondence and documents including briefs, subpoenas, and notices. Maintain both physical and electronic case files.
- Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact fielding calls from clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of civil litigation law firm experience required
- Deep familiarity with North Carolina civil procedure, rules of evidence, and local court terminology
- Proficiency in NC eCourts and legal calendaring software (Outlook, Time Matters, Clio, or ProLaw)
- Strong ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, high attention to detail, and commitment to client confidentiality
