What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Support Specialist position at AUTOGATE INC?
Summary:
Responsible for providing support to the Controller and other department personnel. Reconciles daily A/R credit card batch statements, A/R invoicing, A/P invoicing, reconciles vendor pack list and purchase orders to match with vendor A/P invoice.
Primary Duties:
Accounts Payable:
- Issue checks for accounts payable.
- Place checks in envelopes and mail out.
- Match A/P vendor invoices to purchase orders.
- Process bills for payment. ACH/EFT/Checks
- Processes misc. charges and refunds.
Accounts Receivable:
- Input A/R invoices, checks, account statements, and other reports.
- Compiles and sorts invoices and checks.
- File and tally deposits.
- Arrange for deposits to be delivered to bank.
- Input and process of customer refunds.
- Reconcile daily credit card batch statements.
Collections:
- Initiate contact and follow up with individuals and companies with delinquent accounts.
- Works with Controller to decide how the account is handled with regards to credit terms and customer classification.
General:
- Maintains electronic accounting records and filing documents.
- Work with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security; ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
- Provide front desk customer service when Administrative Assistant is out.
- Work with adding machines, calculators, and databases.
- Utilize computer systems to enter accounts payable, pay bills, and process accounts receivable.
- Assist purchasing and sales with issues as they arise pertaining to AR/AP vendor packets.
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support purchases.
- Maintains accounting records by digitizing copies and electronically filing documents.
- Other clerical duties as needed. Including getting and distributing the mail and running errands.
- Reconciling credit card purchases in Epicor.
- Assisting customers and vendors with questions.
Personal Protective Equipment Required for this Job
The person performing this job function is required to wear safety glasses with side shields at any time you are performing any duty in the production area of the shop. The person performing this job function is not required to wear safety shoes but should limit exposure to areas of the shop that are not marked walkways. Open shoes or sandals are not permitted in production areas of the shop.
