Position Overview
The Material Handler III is responsible for managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials across the facility. This role ensures accurate handling of incoming and outgoing goods while maintaining safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and quality standards
- Interpret production schedules, work orders, and shipping documents to determine material requirements
- Move materials between receiving, production, and storage areas
- Sort and store items based on size, type, or product code
- Pick, pack, and assemble customer orders for shipment
- Load and unload palletized and non-palletized goods
- Operate manual and automated material handling equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse systems
- Label and identify materials appropriately
- Weigh and count items to ensure compliance with company standards
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following safety and hygiene guidelines
- Support internal and external customer needs and contribute to overall operational performance
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience:
- 5–10 years of relevant material handling or warehouse experience (preferred)
Skills & Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use warehouse management systems
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and system data
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to climb stairs and work on concrete surfaces
- Comfortable working in varying conditions, including heat (up to 120°F), cold (down to 0°F), and noisy environments (hearing protection may be required)
- Exposure to dust, dirt, and both indoor and outdoor work environments
- Ability to operate a computer and communicate via phone and written formats
