Position Overview
The Data Entry Specialist I is responsible for reviewing physical medical records and accurately entering required information into a data system. This role requires a high volume of keystrokes with strict accuracy standards and includes light physical handling of document cartons.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a consistent high rate of data entry (approximately 10,000 keystrokes per hour) with 100% accuracy, verified through double-key validation
- Pull individual medical files from storage cartons and identify required data fields
- Enter data into the client database accurately and efficiently
- Carry document cartons weighing 30–50 lbs between pallet and workstation at intervals of approximately every 5–7 minutes
- Lift and lower cartons from pallet to workstation, with lift heights ranging from 13” to 45”
- Return completed files to cartons and place them back onto pallets
Work Environment
- Work is performed 95% seated at a workstation
- Approximately 5% of time involves moving cartons
- Carrying distance for cartons may be up to 15–20 feet
- Maximum pallet storage height is 5 boxes
Schedule
- 5 days per week
- 9-hour shifts including:
- 30-minute lunch break
- Two 15-minute rest breaks
Safety & Footwear Requirements
- Protective footwear is required
- Shoes must meet ASTM F2413-11 safety toe standards
- Footwear must be slip-resistant with a rating of “Better” or “Best”
Performance Measurement
- Performance is evaluated based on keystroke volume and accuracy
