What are the responsibilities and job description for the Promotions & Community Relations Internship position at Augusta GreenJackets?
The GreenJackets are looking to hire an intern for the 2026 Season in our Marketing Department engaging in promotions, In-game entertainment, and community relations departments, helping bring energy to the ballpark and representing the organization throughout the community. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, organized, and ready to contribute to a memorable fan experience both inside and outside the stadium. This is a tremendous opportunity for a December 2025 graduate, or a May 2025 graduate to get the experience you need, along with training to learn the inside of a sports business.
Promotions & Game Entertainment
- Assist with planning, prepping, and executing theme nights, giveaways, skits, on-field contests, and special promotions.
- Support the in-game entertainment team with script organization, timing, and between-inning activations.
- Coordinate in-game programs such as scheduling national anthems, Salute to Soldiers, First Responders of the Game, Teacher of the Months, and more.
- Help coordinate mascot appearances and assist with mascot prep as needed.
- Contribute creative ideas that elevate the in-game show and engage fans of all ages.
- Participate in game-day setup and breakdown for promotional elements, signage, props, and entertainment areas.
- Become a Team Leader for the Caddy Crew and Kids Zone, this means the management of seasonal staff and their schedules.
Community Relations
- Represent the organization at community events, festivals, school visits, and partner appearances.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and executing community outreach initiatives.
- Support donation requests, nonprofit partnerships, and volunteer efforts.
- Blend community and in-game efforts to showcase reach in the CSRA.
Qualifications
- Graduated May/December 2025 with a degree in sports management, marketing, communications, event management, or a related field. Should you be graduating in May of 2026, this role requires you are on site by February 2026.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with graphic design preferred (Adobe Photoshop, Canva or similar).
- A positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the season.
- Comfortable interacting with the public and being part of a high-energy entertainment environment.
The GreenJackets will pay 100% for your housing in this role, we have special intern housing for you and other interns, and we cover all your expenses. Further, we provide you with a monthly stipend of $700 for your other expenses.
