The Augusta County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office is seeking to employ an individual for an entry-level, full-time Deputy Clerk – Probate Division position.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced setting with primary duties to include assisting individuals and families with probating wills and estates, and with additional primary duties to include processing judgements. Duties also include, issuing marriage licenses, assisting applicants with concealed handgun permit applications, researching genealogical inquiries, answering the telephone, and assisting the public.
Additional duties will include assisting the Land Records Division as needed; and other related duties as designated by the Clerk of Circuit Court.
Skills required for a successful candidate include: excellent customer service; attention to detail; ability to multi-task under pressure; work as a team player, and proficiency in operating a computer, scanner, telephone, copier, and fax machine.
The minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma. Work experience in a business office or law firm is preferred.
The Position is a full-time position with a starting annual salary of $40,000.00. This position includes Augusta County benefits. Candidates must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
