Senior Accountant Financial Reporting

We are working with a leading global alternative asset management firm is seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Reporting professional to support accounting, reporting, and operational functions for a publicly listed real estate investment platform. The firm manages tens of billions in assets across credit, real estate, and private equity strategies and is known for its institutional investment platform and collaborative culture. This role will work closely with senior leadership, investment professionals, and cross-functional teams across accounting, legal, investor relations, treasury, and operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with REIT or real estate accounting experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with exposure to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting, operations, and financial reporting activities for the REIT platform.

• Coordinate monthly financial reporting with property companies and accounting teams to consolidate records.

• Review property-level reporting to ensure proper consolidation in compliance with US GAAP.

• Review waterfall calculations, incentive allocations, and management fee calculations.

• Manage the monthly NAV and close process in accordance with reporting deadlines and internal controls.

• Coordinate property consolidation with third-party administrators.

• Partner with asset management teams to ensure subsidiary reporting aligns with monthly reporting requirements.

• Prepare technical accounting memos for acquisitions and accounting positions.

• Manage preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements for SEC reporting.

• Liaise with service providers on XBRL tagging and preparation of 10-Qs and 10-Ks.

• Support internal FP&A reporting and public company reporting requirements.

• Work with external service providers to identify and maintain SOX controls, evaluate testing results, and remediate deficiencies where necessary.

• Prepare quarterly management and board reporting materials.

• Coordinate annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors.

• Ensure compliance with expense allocation policies and procedures.

• Partner with treasury and third-party administrators to ensure liquidity for pending transactions.

• Monitor exposure to credit facilities and support reporting related to debt covenants.

• Contribute to ongoing initiatives to scale accounting and operational processes through technology and improved workflows.

Qualifications

• 3 years of accounting or financial reporting experience, ideally within REIT, real estate investment, or fund accounting environments.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

• Experience supporting financial statement preparation and consolidations.

• Ability to operate in a hands-on, fast-moving environment with multiple priorities.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Advanced Excel skills required.

• CPA preferred.

• Familiarity with Workiva is a plus.
