What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Tax Manager position at Atlas Search?
Our client is a Global Asset Management firm based in Manhattan. The role sits on site Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle payroll operations, including U.S. (multi-state) and Canadian payroll.
- Manage and mentor a team of two payroll professionals.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations; act as a subject matter expert on payroll tax issues.
- Handle year-end tax reconciliations, including W-2s (U.S.) and T4s (Canada).
- Partner with Accounting and HR leadership on payroll reporting and analysis.
- Lead benefits administration, including open enrollment, employee inquiries, and claims management.
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency in Workday payroll and benefits systems.
Core Competencies:
- 8 years of Payroll Tax Experience
- Must have Multi State (US) and Canadian Payroll tax experience
- Extensive and thorough knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local wage and hour, garnishment, and tax regulations
- Must have managerial experience
- Must have Workday Experience
- Intermediate/Advanced skills in Excel
The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
