What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance (Family Office) position at Atlas Search?
We are partnering with a highly respected NYC–based philanthropic family office on a newly created Director of Finance opportunity.
This is a rare chance to step into a highly visible role supporting an ultra-high-net-worth family and helping build best-in-class financial infrastructure from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience within family offices, UHNW advisory environments, or private wealth financial operations, along with the ability to thrive in a fluid, entrepreneurial setting.
Key responsibilities include:
• Oversee the full spectrum of financial operations across personal and family office entities
• Maintain a consolidated view of trusts, real estate, investments, insurance, banking relationships, and liabilities
• Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, bill pay, taxes, insurance, and property-related expenses
• Partner with external service providers including tax advisors, estate attorneys, and private banking teams
• Build and enhance financial controls, reporting processes, and governance infrastructure
• Supervise staff supporting household and lifestyle financial operations
• Work closely with the principals, Chief of Staff, and broader support teams
Qualifications:
• 10 years of experience in family office financial operations, UHNW advisory, or related environments
• Proven success in start-up or build-out environments
• Exceptional discretion and experience handling confidential financial matters
• NYC-based with ability to be in NYC office 3x per week
Compensation:
- $200k/250k total compensation
Days in NYC office:
- 3 days per week
