Title: VP, Business Continuity – Crisis Management
Location: White Plains, NY (could be 2 days a week in office)
Overview
A leading global financial institution is seeking a VP to join its Business Continuity & Crisis Management team. This individual will play a central role in managing high-impact incidents, coordinating cross-functional response efforts, and strengthening the firm’s overall operational resilience framework. The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence firmwide crisis strategy and preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead incident identification, classification, and escalation in line with established crisis management frameworks
- Coordinate real-time crisis response across business, technology, cyber, and risk teams
- Facilitate and drive incident and crisis calls, ensuring clear priorities, decisions, and action items
- Conduct ongoing impact assessments, including business disruption, customer impact, and recovery timelines
- Support senior leadership with timely, consolidated insights to enable effective decision-making
- Oversee governance and documentation, including incident logs, decision records, and audit-ready materials
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external parties, including regulators where required
- Lead or support post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts
- Contribute to the development and execution of crisis simulations, scenario testing, and training programs
- Enhance business continuity and operational resilience frameworks through continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in crisis management, incident management, business continuity, or operational resilience
- Proven experience leading or coordinating major incidents or crisis events in complex organizations
- Background in financial services or other highly regulated environments strongly preferred
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure situations and drive cross-functional coordination
- Experience supporting executive-level stakeholders and synthesizing information quickly
- Strong understanding of governance, audit, and regulatory expectations related to BCM/resilience
- Hands-on experience with incident tracking, documentation, and post-event analysis
- Exposure to crisis simulation exercises and resilience testing programs
- Familiarity with BCM tools such as Fusion or Everbridge is a plus
Compensation
Base salary up to $170K bonus
