Senior Fund Accountant

My client is a rapidly growing private equity firm managing approximately $6 billion in assets under management. Position Summary:

As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will work closely with the CFO and finance team to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of fund financials, execution of key accounting processes, and support for strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional ready to step into a dynamic environment with significant exposure to senior leadership and broad responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and review monthly, quarterly, and annual fund financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and partnership agreements.
• Manage capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest calculations, and NAV reporting.
• Coordinate and review the work of outsourced fund administrators and ensure data integrity.
• Support the annual financial statement audit and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.
• Prepare investor reporting packages and respond to investor inquiries.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of regulatory filings and compliance reporting.
• Assist with cash management, reconciliations, and fund treasury operations.
• Provide input on fund structuring, new product launches, and internal control improvements.
• Work closely with the CFO and senior management on ad-hoc projects, process enhancements, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA is strongly preferred.
• 3-8 years of fund accounting experience in private equity, alternative investment funds, or public accounting serving private markets clients OR 5-8 years of public audit of private equity funds.
• In-depth knowledge of fund structures, partnership accounting, and investment company GAAP.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills; experience with private equity fund accounting software is a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and integrity.
