Development Manager
Location: King of Prussia, PA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 100% onsite
About the Role
A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a Development Manager to help lead fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnership efforts.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a nonprofit development/fundraising background OR a strong sales/business development background who is interested in transitioning into a mission-driven role.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Manager will help develop fundraising strategies, manage donor and partner relationships, lead campaigns and events, and mentor development professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies across individual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, and sponsorships.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders.
- Identify new fundraising and partnership opportunities.
- Manage donor and partner pipelines and engagement activities.
- Lead and mentor development team members.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, webinars, and community outreach.
- Partner with executive leadership and internal teams to support organizational goals.
- Track fundraising activity, engagement, and performance metrics.
- Represent the organization at meetings, events, and community engagements.
- Maintain accurate donor and partner information and support fundraising technology and systems.
Qualifications
Nonprofit Development Candidates:
- 5 years of nonprofit development/fundraising experience.
- Experience with donor cultivation, major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, or sponsorships.
- Experience managing fundraising initiatives and/or teams.
Sales/Business Development Candidates:
- 5 years of successful sales, business development, account management, or relationship management experience.
- Proven ability to build long-term relationships and drive revenue.
- Experience managing a pipeline and identifying new opportunities.
- Comfortable working with senior-level executives and external stakeholders.
- Strong consultative selling, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Interest in transitioning into nonprofit development.
For either background, we're looking for someone who is proactive, organized, relationship-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership. Strong communication skills are essential. Salesforce experience is a plus.
