Job Overview – Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000/year bonus

Location: Wilmington, DE

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant in Wilmington, DE for our client, supporting SEC reporting, financial statement preparation, technical accounting, and audit activities. This role will assist with quarterly and annual reporting, disclosure preparation, XBRL tagging, and accounting research while partnering across finance and accounting functions. The ideal candidate has public accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities as the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant:

• SEC Reporting: Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting materials, including financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, and supporting schedules.
• Financial Analysis: Support management reporting, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and financial statement review processes.
• Audit Support: Coordinate external audit requests, prepare supporting documentation, and assist with quarterly reviews and annual audit requirements.
• Technical Accounting: Research accounting and disclosure matters, prepare technical documentation, and support evolving accounting requirements.
• Corporate Accounting: Support accounting and reporting for corporate transactions and other complex financial activities.
• Systems & Controls: Maintain financial reporting processes, support reporting systems, and identify opportunities to strengthen controls and improve efficiency.

Qualifications for the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Certification: CPA or active progress toward CPA licensure is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of public accounting, audit, or combined public and corporate accounting experience is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting is required, with SEC reporting or public company experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are required, with experience using Workiva, XBRL, ERP systems, or financial reporting platforms preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, technical accounting, communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
