Radiology Technician – Interventional Radiology (3rd Shift)
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Interventional Radiology
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Duration: 13-week contract
Holiday Rotation: Required for holidays falling on scheduled workdays
Certifications: BLS and ARRT required
Position Summary
Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and dependable Travel Radiology Technician to join our Interventional Radiology team for a 13-week overnight assignment. This role involves performing advanced diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and supporting interventional procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment in advance of patient procedures, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed and ensure clear, high-quality imaging.
- Accurately position patients and equipment to capture optimal images while providing patient education and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Input scanning instructions and monitor computer systems to control imaging sequences, contrast, and density settings.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and adherence to radiation protection protocols.
- Produce and interpret diagnostic images, report significant findings to physicians, and maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Support emergency procedures and assist in coordinating daily procedure schedules.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of recent radiology technician experience, preferably in interventional radiology
- Current ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with contrast media administration and sterile procedure environments
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities
- Prior travel assignment experience is preferred
