Medical Laboratory Technician – Weekend Package
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Laboratory
Schedule:
- Friday & Saturday: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- Sunday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Weekend package with holiday rotation
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Position Summary
Athena Medtech is seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Laboratory Department as part of our weekend and holiday rotation team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical laboratory skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in diagnostic accuracy and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and process laboratory specimens by verifying labeling and matching orders with samples; sort and check deliveries for accuracy.
- Maintain high-quality testing standards by performing quality control procedures and routine equipment maintenance.
- Operate chemistry analyzers and related laboratory equipment to produce accurate and timely test results for diagnosis and treatment.
- Identify and report abnormal results or patient conditions to supervisory personnel.
- Perform toxicology testing to determine the presence and concentration of drugs or substances.
- Ensure safe blood transfusion practices by conducting blood typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching.
- Act as a technical resource by participating in training new staff and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Certification by ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or AMT (American Medical Technologists) is required
- Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and conducting a wide range of diagnostic tests
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $1,410.16 - $1,415.16 per week
