Job Summary
Athena Medtech is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Cardiac or Vascular Sonographer to perform diagnostic cardiovascular examinations in accordance with physician orders and department protocols. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise and autonomy, as well as the ability to collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic imaging.
The Sonographer will generate preliminary findings, document procedures, and communicate critical results effectively, often working independently while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, work ethic, and integrity.
Qualifications Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited ultrasound program or 1 year of relevant on-the-job training
Licenses & Certifications
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) – Required within 1 year of hire
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RVS (Registered Vascular Sonographer) – Required within 1 year of hire
- CPR Certification – Required
Continuing Education
- Must obtain and maintain CME credits as required by ARDMS/CCI and applicable accreditation standards
Required Skills & Competencies
- RDCS/RCS or RVT/RVS Certification – Required
- Proficiency in performing all cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures offered in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department
- Ability to use and troubleshoot equipment such as ultrasound systems, PVR machines, BP monitors, and EMR systems
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality and patient rapport
- Availability for on-call shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Commitment to ongoing training and participation in required meetings and learning modules
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
