Position Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Mid- to Senior-Level Accountant (CGI ERP) position. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position pays a competitive salary commensurate with experience and is located in Towson, Maryland.
This position supports an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation and is responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial management duties. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated, hands-on experience with CGI ERP software—this requirement is non-negotiable.
Candidates must have verifiable CGI ERP experience. Submissions that misrepresent this experience will result in disqualification.
While onsite work is preferred, remote arrangements will be considered for highly qualified candidates located outside the Baltimore area.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Maintain budget and accounting records for Federal and State grants and provide financial reports to grant managers and supervisors.
- Prepare financial reports for management, state, and federal oversight agencies.
- Prepare financial statements, schedules, and footnote disclosures required for external auditors and inclusion in the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
- Perform daily banking and investment activities.
- Assist leadership with all aspects of accounting, including but not limited to: general fund operating budget, capital projects, enterprise funds, grants, school activity funds, payroll, fixed assets, financial reporting, and accruals.
- Assist with maintenance of the chart of accounts.
- Verify and reconcile information between payroll and financial systems.
- Coordinate billing and collection of funds due from outside agencies.
- Prepare, review, and approve disbursements, journal entries, and cash remittances.
- Prepare payroll labor cost corrections for grants and operating accounts.
- Prepare revenue and expenditure projections.
- Review transactions for compliance with procedures and state financial reporting requirements.
- Consult with and assist internal departments and account managers regarding accounting procedures and financial systems.
- Develop and deliver training materials related to financial accounting procedures and best practices.
- Assist with compliance reviews of federal grant activity.
- Investigate and prepare responses to audit findings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency with CGI ERP software is required.
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles, grant compliance, and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and federal/state financial regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support non-financial personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred but not required.
- Experience commensurate with an Accountant-level role, with preference for those with extensive accounting experience.
- Prior experience supporting large-scale ERP implementations highly preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week).
