About the Opportunity
A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Manager to lead the daily operations of its electrical service department in Wilmington, North Carolina.
This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of electrical service work and assigned projects. The Electrical Service Manager will oversee estimating, scheduling, project execution, field personnel, job costing, customer relationships, and department performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with company leadership while supporting commercial and industrial customers, general contractors, developers, and property owners throughout the market.
What You Will Do
- Lead the daily operations of the electrical service department.
- Manage electrical service projects from award through completion and closeout.
- Oversee estimating, bidding, design-build proposals, scheduling, purchasing, billing, and change orders.
- Monitor project budgets, job costs, labor productivity, profitability, and overall financial performance.
- Coordinate service technicians, field personnel, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and project resources.
- Review estimates and proposals within established authorization limits.
- Prepare job status reports, pay applications, billing documentation, and project updates.
- Coach field personnel and hold service teams accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
- Conduct job-site visits to evaluate safety, workmanship, schedule performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop relationships with customers, general contractors, developers, and property owners while identifying new service opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of electrical construction or electrical service management experience.
- Leadership experience managing electrical service operations, electrical projects, or field personnel.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical construction and service work.
- Experience with estimating, project management, scheduling, budgeting, billing, and change order management.
- Understanding of job costing, labor productivity, project budgets, and financial performance.
- Experience coordinating field personnel, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and project schedules.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, general contractors, developers, and property owners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations and job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing an electrical service department.
- Design-build estimating experience.
- Experience overseeing multiple service technicians and electrical projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes, OSHA requirements, and construction safety standards.
- State or local electrical licenses or certifications, where applicable.
