Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Buyer to join our team. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items using MRP logic and/or forecasts. The Buyer will manage inventory levels, oversee purchase orders, and build strong supplier relationships to ensure a resilient and efficient supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities for raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items using MRP logic and/or forecasts.
• Monitor and manage inventory to optimize turnover while preventing stock-outs.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of purchase orders, including issuance, tracking, resolving blocked invoices, and expediting shipments when necessary.
• Provide accurate and timely forecasts to suppliers on a regular basis.
• Assist in supplier selection and qualification based on commercial and technical capabilities.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Collaborate with Commodity/Purchasing Managers to enhance supply chain maturity and support onboarding of new suppliers.
• Participate in supplier audits and performance evaluations, including scorecard completion.
• Ensure compliance with organizational Supplier Expectations and standards.
  
  

Essential

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience or equivalent internship with direct buying responsibilities.
• Strong computer proficiency and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience in manufacturing procurement.
• Knowledge of MRP systems; SAP experience is a plus.
• APICS certification is advantageous.
  
  

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $40.86/hr.
