Senior Piping Designer (Revit) - Contract-to-Hire
Portland (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer for a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Portland, OR.
In this role, you'll operate as a senior-level contributor, independently developing piping designs, leading portions of project scope, and coordinating directly with engineers and multidisciplinary teams. You will play a key role in ensuring model quality, design accuracy, and adherence to project standards while supporting execution and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed piping designs and 3D models using Revit
- Lead portions of project scope with minimal supervision
- Coordinate closely with engineers and other disciplines
- Provide technical input on operability, constructability, and design standards
- Support workshare execution across distributed teams
- Contribute to estimating, scheduling, and change management discussions
- Ensure high-quality deliverables through strong QA/QC practices
- Associate's degree in Design Technology or related field (or equivalent experience 2 years)
- 10 years of piping design experience in industrial environments (Oil & Gas, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, or Semiconductor)
- Minimum 3 years of strong experience using Revit for piping design and modeling
- Solid understanding of piping specifications, materials, equipment interfaces, and layout fundamentals
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, vendor drawings, and engineering documentation
- Proven ability to work independently while managing assigned design tasks
- Strong communication and coordination skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on model and drawing accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field
- Experience working on semiconductor facility projects
- Knowledge of pipe stress considerations and their impact on routing and support design
- Familiarity with QA/QC workflows, model health reviews, and specification-driven design
- Advanced Revit skills, including family/part development and troubleshooting
- Prior experience leading piping design teams and ensuring model consistency and quality
