Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design project teams for a wide range of complex and high-impact projects. This role involves delivering innovative, high-quality engineering solutions across industries including data centers, power, industrial, healthcare, transportation, and government facilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to drive projects from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead civil engineering design efforts from conceptual planning through final design and construction support
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule
- Review and approve civil vendor drawings and collaborate with suppliers, clients, and internal teams
- Develop project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets; manage change orders effectively
- Apply advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and standards to complex projects
- Prepare technical reports, studies, and detailed engineering specifications
- Develop innovative, non-standard solutions to engineering challenges
- Conduct quality reviews of engineering documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
- Support construction administration activities, including field inspections and resolving design-related issues
- Lead site inspections, material testing, and construction evaluations for public and private sector projects
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities
- Participate in business development, including proposal preparation and pursuit strategy
- Manage project financials, including cost estimates, budgets, and performance reporting
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to team development
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and company safety standards
- Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) from an ABET-accredited program and 7 years of experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited) with FE certification and 7 years of experience; OR
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with 6 years of experience
- EPC project experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles, codes, and industry standards
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Revit (BIM), and other analysis tools (e.g., hydraulic/hydrologic modeling programs)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to lead large-scale projects and manage engineering teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Ability to conduct thorough quality reviews of engineering documents
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
