Procurement Specialist
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: Contract with potential hire
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to support a variety of industrial and infrastructure projects in a fast-paced EPC environment. This role is responsible for managing medium- to high-criticality sourcing events and supporting procurement activities throughout the full project lifecycle—from early estimating through contract award and execution.

Key Responsibilities- Lead procurement efforts for medium to high complexity materials, equipment, and subcontract sourcing events
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve best value outcomes
- Prepare and issue RFIs, RFPs, and related bid documentation
- Evaluate supplier proposals, perform commercial analysis, and lead negotiations
- Develop and present recommendations for contract award
- Conduct bidder conferences and coordinate technical discussions
- Support contract formation, administration, and subcontract management
- Manage contract lifecycle activities including change orders and amendments
- Participate in project estimating and deal development efforts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, project teams, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with procurement processes, procedures, and contract requirements
- Mentor and support junior procurement staff and assist with workload coordination
- Participate in supplier kick-off and close-out meetings
- Maintain transparency with Project Management Teams (PMT) and provide regular updates
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in EPC or related industries (power, oil & gas, infrastructure, heavy construction)
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and identify potential issues proactively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams)
- Detail-oriented with the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 3-7 years of related procurement experience
- Experience supporting large industrial construction projects
- Exposure to multiple industrial market sectors
- Prior experience interfacing with clients and engineering teams
- Experience with digital document workflows (e.g., DocuSign, Adobe Sign)
- Familiarity with procurement and ERP systems such as Oracle or similar platforms
- Contract position with potential for extension based on project needs
- Up to 25% travel may be required
