The Controls Technician is responsible for the development, programming, and installation of new electrical and control equipment as well as troubleshooting and improving existing equipment.

The Controls Technician is responsible for the development, programming, and installation of new electrical and control equipment as well as troubleshooting and improving existing equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Other duties may be assigned
- Install, wire, program, update, and debug PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motor controls for various control systems
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment and process problems to minimize down time
- Work with vendors to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment
- Assist in writing validation plans, executing plans and completing validation reports
- Assist in continuous improvement projects, implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing for cost savings
- Collect data and performs statistical analysis for process characterization, Cpk, and scrap reduction goals
- Work with New Product Development to implement new products into production
- Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/product
- Write/update work instructions on the startup, operation, and maintenance of control systems
- Train and provide technical support or direction to production staff and fellow technicians
- Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2-year technical degree preferred
- 2-5 years of experience supporting machine control setup, maintenance, and repair in a manufacturing environment required
- Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 PLC experience preferred
- SCADA experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve electro-mechanical problems
- Proficient verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Positive teamwork and attitude required to support the manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including word, excel and outlook
