Production Lead (Controls Technician)
HOLLAND, MI USA
Main Responsibilities:
System Development and Maintenance
o Build, inspect, and repair measurement systems, including laser engraving and soldering components.
o Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
o Calibrate sensors and systems for accuracy and reliability.
o Design and construct electrical panels.
o Conduct system testing to ensure functionality and quality.
· Customer Support
o Provide troubleshooting assistance for electrical and automation issues.
o Design and Documentation
o Create and update simple electrical schematics.
o Source and procure electrical and mechanical components, including identifying alternatives when needed.
o Manage project Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated documentation.
System Installation and Configuration
o Oversee system installation at customer sites.
o Configure OPC (e.g., KepwareEX) systems for seamless integration.
Leadership Responsibilities
o Maintain shop organization and implement 5S principles.
o Optimize production efficiency.
o Develop and maintain job aids, checklists, and operational guidelines.
Qualifications:
· 5–10 years of experience in controls engineering.
· Proficient in PLC communication protocols and ladder logic programming.
· Skilled in creating and interpreting electrical schematics.
· Strong knowledge and experience with low-voltage systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosis.
· Competence in operating hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fault-testing devices.
· Basic computer proficiency.
· Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
· Excellent analytical, facilitation, and organizational capabilities.
Work Location:
· Office located in Holland, MI USA
· Travel to customer locations – up to 20%
