Employment Type: Part-Time / Non-Exempt

Pay: $30/hr (Bachelor's degree) – $40/hr (Graduate degree); $10/hr non-billable

About the Role

Are you passionate about helping youth and families build stronger, healthier relationships? We're looking for a compassionate and skilled TBS Coach to provide individualized behavioral coaching to youth and their families. In this role, you'll focus on emotional regulation, social skills, conflict resolution, and positive behavior change — helping families thrive at home, at school, and in their communities.

You'll work closely with therapists, caregivers, and our TBS Supervisor to carry out treatment goals and empower parents through coaching, psychoeducation, and hands-on practice.

What You'll Do

Support Youth Development

  • Teach and model age-appropriate emotional regulation strategies
  • Help youth build communication, social, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Coach youth through behavioral interventions to reduce unsafe or impulsive behaviors
  • Reinforce positive choices using strengths-based methods
  • Support youth in generalizing skills across home, school, and community settings

Coach & Empower Parents

  • Teach parents how to reinforce the skills their child is learning
  • Model effective behavior management and communication strategies
  • Provide psychoeducation on mental health symptoms, triggers, and behavior functions
  • Help build consistent routines and expectations at home
  • Deliver feedback after sessions on progress and home carryover
  • Highlight family strengths and encourage positive change

Strengthen Parent-Child Relationships

  • Facilitate coaching sessions focused on shared problem-solving and guided interactions
  • Support bonding activities that reduce conflict and build connection
  • Use coping strategies, role-plays, and feedback to help families shift unhelpful patterns

Collaborate & Coordinate Care

  • Update the TBS Supervisor and therapist on family engagement and progress
  • Participate in care coordination calls and team reviews
  • Translate treatment goals into practical, everyday strategies for families

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, timely session notes in accordance with Medicaid/IDAPA standards
  • Document skill reinforcement, behavioral changes, and progress
  • Report safety concerns or significant changes to your supervisor promptly

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
  • Experience working with youth, families, or behavioral interventions
  • Solid understanding of child development, behavioral strategies, and emotional regulation
  • Strong coaching and communication skills with both youth and caregivers
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, boundaries, and confidentiality in family settings
  • Clear, accurate documentation skills
