CBRS Staff (Community Based Rehabilitation Services)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

About the Role

Are you passionate about helping others build independence and lead more fulfilling lives? We're looking for a compassionate CBRS Staff member to provide skills-based rehabilitation services to clients working to build independence, improve daily functioning, and reduce challenging behaviors related to mental health diagnoses.

In this role, you'll teach daily living skills, model pro-social behavior, support emotional regulation, and deliver structured interventions in home, school, and community settings — working closely with clinicians, case managers, families, and community partners to help clients meet their individualized treatment goals.

What You'll Do

Daily Living & Functional Skill Development

  • Teach and model daily living skills (hygiene, cleaning, organization, routines)
  • Support clients in building independence through structured practice and repetition
  • Assist clients in community settings — stores, transportation, recreation, social groups — to promote real-life application
  • Foster client involvement in age-appropriate environments and community opportunities

Social, Communication & Emotional Skills Coaching

  • Support the development of social skills, communication skills, and healthy relationships
  • Coach clients on emotional regulation, coping skills, and problem solving
  • Teach and reinforce pro-social behaviors using evidence-based strategies (CBT-informed skills, modeling, prompting)
  • Help clients reduce maladaptive or unsafe behaviors through planned interventions and positive reinforcement

Treatment Plan Implementation & Progress Monitoring

  • Work one-on-one with clients to meet goals outlined in their individualized treatment plan
  • Implement behavior plans and skills interventions in coordination with clinical guidance
  • Track client progress through data collection, observation, and structured feedback
  • Adjust interventions based on client response and consult with supervisors or clinicians as needed

Collaboration & Family Support

  • Participate in treatment team meetings with therapists, case managers, teachers, and other professionals
  • Provide caregivers with education, modeling, and practical strategies to support skills at home
  • Maintain consistent communication with clinicians regarding progress, concerns, or barriers to treatment

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete daily and weekly progress notes meeting Medicaid and IDAPA documentation standards
  • Document interventions used, client response, time spent, and progress toward goals
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional records in the agency's EHR system
  • Follow all agency policies, Medicaid regulations, HIPAA requirements, and safety procedures
  • Participate in weekly agency staff and staffing meetings

Client Advocacy & Support

  • Advocate for client needs across home, school, and community settings
  • Support clients in building confidence and self-advocacy skills
  • Help remove barriers to success and connect clients with necessary programs and supports

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral and emotional needs highly beneficial
  • Ability to teach and model practical, real-world skills
  • Strong communication, coaching, and behavior management skills
  • Understanding of evidence-based behavioral strategies and mental health needs
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work independently in community environments
  • Clear, accurate documentation skills in compliance with Medicaid standards
